CUMBERLAND UMC PRESCHOOL
The mission of Cumberland UMC
Preschool is to provide quality early childhood education and care that will
nurture our students spiritually, academically and socially in an environment
where Jesus Christ and His Kingdom are placed first. We strive to develop well rounded children
who are happy, secure, confident, and eager to learn. The preschool has remained true to those
standards, strengthening them as the program expanded. Cumberland Preschool functions as a ministry
to the community on behalf of Cumberland
United Methodist
Church. Established in 2000, Cumberland United
Methodist Preschool was founded by a small group of dedicated church members
who recognized the need for a quality church-based preschool in the surrounding
community. The preschool is designed to
provide children with age appropriate learning experiences that will enhance
their continuing growth and development.
Children are involved each day in planned learning activities using the
curriculum High Reach Learning that is designed to provide the basic academic
and intellectual habits and skills required for success in secondary
school. The preschool offers programs
that are designed for children age two, three, and four years old. Cumberland Preschool is a four-hour day, 9AM – 1PM, preschool program, serving
the Fayetteville,
Cumberland County, and surrounding areas. |

Cumberland United Methodist Church Preschool Director
Connie Wirt was born and
raised in Missouri
and graduated from Missouri
State University
(Springfield)
with Bachelor of Science degrees in Marketing and in Management and a minor in
Communications. She has a daughter and
son who are in the 10th and 7th grades at Village Christian Academy. She is a volunteer coach for the Fayetteville Parks and Recreation. Connie founded Cumberland UMC Preschool Program with two other teachers in August
of 2000. This is her 11th
year as the Preschool Director. She and
her family are members of Cumberland UMC
where she is on the Board of Trustees and Cumberland UMC
Preschool Board of Directors. Connie is certified
by the American Heart Association in CPR, AED,
and the EPI Pen.
